Product Review ~ Eyeliner

Product Review: Eyeliner

Hola Chicas,

I know it has been a while but we're back!!!  Today Id like to talk about one of the few types of makeup that I wear....EYELINER.

I have tried a few different types over the years and have settled on three.

1.  Maybelline Master Precise by Eye Studio Liquid Liner:

I totally love this eyeliner!!  As you can see it has a fine tip so you can be as precise as you need to be.  And if the line is too thin, you can always go back and add more thickness.  This product usually sells for about 8 bucks and is worth every penny!  This one is usually my first choice for a "cat-eyed" look.

Benefits:

  • no mess
  • ultra thin tip
  • doesn't skip
  • inexpensive
Drawbacks:

  • only comes in black

2.  Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner:

This product is my second choice when I wear liner.  This one has a small brush.  I have found that you have to break the brush (use it a few times and get it dirty) in order to get a sharper line.  This gives you a more traditional eye liner look.  You can use this product on your upper and lower lid.

Benefits:

  • 4 great shades (black, brown, charcoal, and eggplant)
  • creamy consistency
  • smudge-proof
  • long lasting
Drawbacks:

  • difficult to get a sharp line
3.  L'Oreal Telescopic Precision Liquid Liner:

I didn't like this product.  The felt tip isn't slanted enough for my liking.  Liquid can be difficult to wok with for someone who doesn't have a lot of experience with liners.  It smudges easily.  It also doesn't last all day.

Benefits:

  • 4 shades (black, carbon black, charcoal, brown)
  • glides on smoothly
Drawbacks:

  • only for expert level liners

Well, thats all for now.  Stay tuned for more products reviews...

As always,

ROCK YOUR SIZE!!!

Love, Danielle

Product Review ~ Natural Hair Care

I've been natural now for six years and I love it! It's one of the choices I'm most proud of. My hair is full, bouncy, and healthy. I have had my share of natural hair products along this journey. Although I've tried many, I only have a few that I prefer for my hair. So, I thought I would share my likes and dislikes, and what different styles you can try with each product. Keep in mind that all hair textures are different and what may work for one may do something totally different for another. So, I would advise trying different products until you find what works best for your hair.

TOP PICK #1

Shea Moisture

This is my top #1 natural hair care product. I absolutely love this product the most for my hair because it gives the best results. It has a nice consistency, meaning it's not too thick or gritty, and it smells great. The conditioning milk is great for twist outs, rod sets, or any natural hairstyle. The best way to use this product is to wash, condition, and blot dry your hair with a towel. Only apply a dime size amount of the product when doing twist outs or rod sets.

Organic Root Stimulator

Ok, the truth is I was not pleased with this product. I am a big fan of good smelling hair and this just did not do it. I did not like the smell of the product and it had a gritty feeling to it. I tried this product on a twist out hairstyle. This product may work best for more coarse hair, or dreadlocks.

 Kinky Curly

I would not advise this product unless you are going for a jheri curl look, or tight, wet-looking curls. The curling custard feels like a gel. Basically, once you wash and detangle your hair, you finger comb the product through the hair. So, if you are going for the look that I mentioned, then this product may work great for you, but I was not a big fan.

It's A 10

I love this product. This product gives your hair a nice sheen. The shampoo cleanses the hair very thoroughly. The conditioner detangles the hair without any additional detangling products and the leave-in gives the hair a nice fluffy, bouncy look. I recommend this product for all types of hair. I promise you will not be disappointed. If you want to achieve a nice blow out, or want to straighten your hair, this is one of the best products for that look. For best results, use all of these products together.

As Always,

She's Rocking her Size ~ Tamela Mann

We all know the beautiful Mrs. Tamela Mann, affectionately known as “Cora” on the TV sitcom “Meet the Browns”. But, you may also know her as one of the background vocalist from the group Kirk Franklin & the Family. She definitely loves the skin she’s in. Lately, she has been seen in pieces that accentuate her assets in a good way. We love the contrast of the polka dots with the solid red pencil skirt. Tamela is keeping up with the hottest trends and looking good at the same time. This is what we like to call “rocking your size” and looking good while doing it. We have nothing bad to say about her look and kudos to the weight loss. She also just released her new album “Best Days” with the #1 song on gospel charts right now, “Take me to the King”. No doubt she is a consistent incredible vocalist but she’s making sure she looks good while Glorifying God! Keep moving up Mrs. Mann, success and blessings look good on you!

The Basics: Undergarments pt. 2

Hola Chicas,

Last time we met we told you guys about the bras that work for us and why.  Now lets dish about Shapewear.  Shapewear is what turns your rolls into curves.  It also turns your pudges into fine lines.  There are certain clothing items that I never wear without an accompanying peice of shapewear.

MYTH:  Shapewear is only for our plus sized sisters.
FACT: Unless you are a supermodel in her prime, YOU NEED SHAPEWEAR!

Here is a short list of the most useful peices of shapewear that work for us...

Body Magic by Ardyss:

As you can see it comes in three colors. If you had to choose one color, get black.  This product promises to drop you 2-3 dress sizes.  In reality....its more like 1 dress size (for us at least).  It does, however, hold everything in the right place and hides a multitude of sins (lol).

Shapewear by Cacique:
These items come in various styles.  The style that you choose all depends on what your wearing on the outside.
For example, if your wearing a skirt (or a dress) you'd probably wear these:
Seamless shapewear shorts
If you were wearing a dress this might be the most appropriate piece (bra not included):
Slimplicity open bust slip by SPANX
If you are wearing jeans or trousers, these are an excellent choice. They can also double as long-johns in the winter:

Remember:  Your outfit isnt finished unless your undergarments are.  Please dress responsibly.

As always, ROCK YOUR SIZE!!!

Love always,

Danielle & Krystal
